I appreciate the Grateful Dead but can’t call myself a dead head. My friend John can. So when I saw a picture of Jerry Garcia’s unique hand – he’s missing a finger – I thought it might make a great pie of art.
The process involves attaching a photocopy of the image to a piece of wood with polyurethane and then carfully removing the paper. For the color, I used dish soap and spraypaint to create the speckled effect.
Fun project, John loved it.
