MAPLE TABLE REPAIR AND REFINISH

The boards of this tabletop had come unglued. Disassembly was first then glueing it all back together, followed by stripping, sanding and refinishing. Lots of hours on this project but it came out beautifully.

My customer estimated the table was built in the 1950s, as she remembers eating at it as a child. This is the top before taking it apart.

It was easier but more time-consuming to glue the table top up two pieces at a time.

Once all in once piece it was time to scrape and sand.

If you haven’t had the pleasure, be aware: Sanding furniture legs is slow, difficult, not a favorite thing.
